Welcoming
the rawness
of you.

The Practice

There is a rawness to being human.

Parts of us can feel difficult to approach, difficult to speak of, and at times difficult to understand. Therapy offers a space to gently begin exploring those places — safely, honestly, and without judgement.

Through a person-centred and trauma-informed approach, I offer gentle guidance alongside you on your journey of growth. With a strong focus on safety and grounding, we explore what feels manageable for you at the time, allowing the process to unfold naturally.

I offer therapy grounded in deep human connection, empathic listening, relational safety, and genuine presence. Each session may feel different, and is guided by your own internal compass and what emerges within the here-and-now moments of the therapeutic space. Along the way, I value the importance of checking in and gently ensuring that safety continues to be upheld throughout the work.

To me, therapy is not about being "fixed," but about being deeply seen, heard, and understood within a safe therapeutic relationship.

Through presence and empathic listening, I invite a deeper level of connection and attunement between myself and you as my client. Within the safety of that connection, vulnerability can gently emerge, welcoming the beginning of movement.

About

Hanne-Cecilia Smyth-Olsen

Hi, my name is Hanne-Cecilia Smyth-Olsen. I am a Norwegian and English-speaking Psychotherapist and Counsellor.

My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped through the interest and inspiration of understanding human connection, relational experiences and the true meaning of self, through a journey of philosophy, psychology and life itself.

Through my studies of both psychology and psychotherapy and my work as a grief and school counsellor, I have come to deeply appreciate the value of being with and the significance of attunement. I often find myself moved by the quiet power it can hold within a therapeutic space. There is something profoundly human in experiencing genuine emotional connection, resonance, and the feeling of being met safely within the presence of another person.

I value nature and the ocean enormously and often find myself drawn to the quiet grounding and reflection it offers. My earlier educational path in Marine Science and Management continues to shape the way I understand connection, presence, and the importance of remaining grounded within both life and in the therapeutic work.
